Montreal, December 19, 2024 — The Montréal Roses are thrilled to announce the addition of Tanya Boychuk to their roster. Committed to contributing to the growth of women’s sports in Canada, this talented forward brings her offensive skills and international experience to the team. This signing is made possible thanks to the support of FASKEN, one of the club’s founding partners and a key player in realizing our vision for women’s soccer in Montreal.
At 24 years old, Tanya joins the Roses after playing in Sweden with Vittsjö GIK in the Damallsvenskan, the top soccer league in Sweden and one of the most competitive and prestigious women’s leagues in the world. She made an impact there by becoming her team’s top scorer in 2024, with 7 goals and 2 assists in 25 appearances. Tanya demonstrated her ability to make a difference in critical moments, with standout performances including a crucial goal against KIF Örebro and a decisive opener against AIK.
Tanya Boychuk embodies the perfect blend of raw talent and determination, and her return to North America is a major boost for Canadian soccer.

TANYA BOYCHUK: EXPLOSIVENESS, INSTINCT, AND INSPIRING LEADERSHIP
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Tanya discovered her passion for soccer at a young age and honed her skills at the University of Memphis, where she also served as team captain. There, she earned prestigious honors, including two selections to the AAC All-Conference First Team (2020-2021, 2021) and Second-Team All-American (2021). Her exceptional performances at the university level paved the way for a promising professional career.
In 2023, before moving to Sweden, Tanya played her first professional year in Iceland with Throttur Reykjavik FC in the Besta Deild Women, the top women’s division. During that season, she scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists, winning Goal of the Yearand earning three appearances in the championship’s Team of the Week. These accolades highlight her immediate impact at the highest level.
On the international stage, Tanya received her first call-up to the senior national team in 2022. She also represented Canada at the U-20 CONCACAF Championships (2018, 2020), impressing at just 17 years old. Integrated into the national program at 16, Tanya has established herself as a talented and ambitious player capable of competing internationally.
Versatile and athletic, Tanya has also excelled in other disciplines, winning two bronze medals in diving at the 2015 Junior Pan American Games. Outside of sports, she is recognized for her linguistic skills — fluent in English, French, and Ukrainian — and for her natural leadership qualities, which she brings both on and off the field.
Today, Tanya begins a new chapter with the Montréal Roses. Her arrival not only strengthens the team’s offensive power but also serves as an inspiring example for the next generation of Canadian players. With her determination, goal-scoring ability, and leadership, she is ready to write a new chapter of success in her career.
