ROSES MIDFIELDER JOINS GHANA FOR TWO INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES

Midfielder Evelyn Badu has been named to the Ghana national team, the Black Queens, for two international friendly matches against Tanzania and Malawi in June.

Badu will join the Ghana camp from June 1 to 9 in Tanzania, where the team will play two fixtures as part of their preparation for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations. Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren named a 22-player squad for the camp.

A Ghana international, Badu's continental honours include CAF Women's Champions League Top Scorer, Player of the Group Stage, and Player of the Tournament in 2021, along with CAF Awards Young Player of the Year and Interclub Player of the Year in 2022.

Badu joined the Roses this season from Molde FK in Norway. She made her Northern Super League debut on May 10 in Toronto, providing the assist on Elyse Bennett's 88th-minute winner.

Badu will rejoin the Roses following her international duty. The Roses (4-1-1) are back in action on Saturday, June 13 at 4:00 p.m. ET at BMO Field against AFC Toronto, before returning home on June 21 against Calgary Wild FC — the first of four straight matches at Stade Boréale.

The Montréal Roses wish Evelyn all the best with the Ghana national team.

Tickets to upcoming home matches are on sale now starting at $28 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.
