Kickoff: Saturday, October 17 · 2:00 PM · Halifax

Broadcast: CBC & RDS 2

With just two matchdays remaining in the Northern Super League regular season, the most consequential fixture in the Montréal Roses’ young history takes place this Saturday afternoon in Nova Scotia. Visiting Wanderers Grounds to take on Halifax Tides FC, the Montreal side has the opportunity to put the regular-season race to rest and secure the franchise’s inaugural silverware.

Sitting top of the table on 41 points (11-4-8) with a three-point cushion over AFC Toronto, the equation is as straightforward as it gets: a victory on Saturday officially secures the NSL Supporters’ Shield for the Roses. A draw could also seal the title, provided Toronto drops points against Calgary on Sunday. Should Montreal clinch the shield this weekend, the official trophy presentation ceremony will take place in front of home supporters at Stade Boréale following the regular-season finale on October 23.

A Historic Unbeaten Run

Montreal arrives in Halifax backed by a franchise-record eight-match unbeaten streak, built under interim head coach Maryse Bard-Martel since she assumed leadership on August 13. Avoiding defeat across their final two fixtures would also see the Roses claim the league’s all-time record for the longest undefeated run.

That defensive resilience has been anchored in goal by Gabrielle Lambert, who has been flawless since stepping into the starter’s role. The Saint-Hyacinthe native has yet to concede a goal in two appearances this season and was recognized with the NSL Save of the Week for a critical stop against Ottawa, bringing her total to five saves on the year.

International Duty Returns & Individual Title Races

The end of the FIFA international break delivers timely squad depth for this pivotal road trip. Mimi Alidou (who started for Canada at Stade Saputo against Denmark), Evelyn Badu (who scored for Ghana in their home-and-away series against Mauritius), Tanya Boychuk (who notched her first goal for Ukraine in the first leg of their 2027 World Cup play-off qualifier against Slovakia), and Amandine Pierre-Louis (who featured as a substitute in Haiti’s friendlies against Japan and Australia) are all expected back with the squad. Meanwhile, young prospects Mélyna Alexis, Christ-Mayron Brou, and Megan Lemieux remain away as they gear up for the U-17 World Cup in Morocco.

Individually, two Roses remain firmly entrenched in league award races. Forward Elyse Bennett continues her pursuit of the NSL Golden Boot with 11 goals, trailing leader Jessica De Filippo by a single strike (12). In midfield, Lisa Pechersky has recorded 4 assists, trailing only DB Pridham and Keera Melenhorst (5).
