ROSES FORWARD JOINS UKRAINE FOR WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS
Forward Tanya Boychuk has been selected by the Ukrainian national team for the upcoming European World Cup qualifying window. The Roses co-captain will play two fixtures with her national side, against Iceland and England, in June.
Boychuk will join the Ukrainian camp from May 31 to June 10. Ukraine will face Iceland on June 5 in Mielec, Poland, then travel to Liverpool to take on England on June 9.
Ukraine is competing in League A alongside England, Spain, and Iceland. The group winner will qualify directly for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil. The remaining teams will advance to playoffs to secure one of Europe's remaining spots.
Boychuk scored a brace against Ottawa Rapid FC on May 23 and currently sits second in the Northern Super League scoring chart with four goals, one behind teammate Elyse Bennett.
Boychuk will rejoin the Roses following her international duty. The Roses (4-1-1) are back in action on Saturday, June 13 at 4:00 p.m. ET at BMO Field against AFC Toronto, before returning home on June 21 against Calgary Wild FC — the first of four straight matches at Stade Boréale.
The Montréal Roses wish Tanya all the best with the Ukrainian national team.
