A HISTORIC PARTNERSHIP FOR THE GROWTH OF WOMEN’S SOCCER IN QUÉBEC
The Montréal Roses are proud to announce their official affiliation with Soccer Québec as an Associate Member, becoming the first professional women’s club to receive this designation.
Founded in 1911 and headquartered in Montreal, Soccer Québec governs the sport across the province. The federation represents over 200,000 members through 18 regional associations and more than 200 clubs, making it the largest sports federation in Québec.
This new affiliation marks an important milestone in the growth of women’s soccer in the province. As an Associate Member, the Roses now join Soccer Québec as an institutional partner, contributing to the provincial soccer ecosystem and the development pathway for players.
This partnership comes at a pivotal time for women’s soccer in Canada. With the launch of the Northern Super League in 2025, thousands of young Québec players now have a local professional team to look up to for the first time. The Roses’ affiliation with Soccer Québec strengthens the connection between grassroots soccer and the elite level, bringing young players closer than ever to a pathway toward the professional game.
“Becoming an Associate Member of Soccer Québec means embracing a shared vision - one where soccer in Québec is strong, structured, and accessible, and where every young player can see a future for herself at every stage of her journey. We are proud to join this community and contribute to the growth of the game across the province” - Annie Larouche, President, Montréal Roses
“The addition of the Montréal Roses as an Associate Member aligns with our commitment to providing Québec players with a cleaner and more inspiring pathway. The presence of a professional women’s club within our ecosystem creates an essential bridge between grassroots soccer, elite player development, and the new professional opportunities now available in Québec. - Jean-Nicolas Gagné, CEO, Soccer Québec.
Through this affiliation, the Montréal Roses and Soccer Québec will work closely on initiatives aimed at developing, supporting, and elevating women’s soccer across the province. This partnership lays the foundation for a promising future: one where the next generation of Québec players can dream bigger, and dream right here at home.
