ROSES MIDFIELDER TO REPRESENT SOUTH KOREA IN AUSTRALIA
The Montréal Roses are proud to announce that midfielder Chaerim Kang has been selected among the 26 players who will represent South Korea at the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia.
The tournament, which begins on March 1st, will also serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Six spots will be awarded: the four semifinalists plus two teams that win playoff matches among the eliminated quarterfinalists.
Chaerim is one of eight overseas-based players selected by head coach Shin Sang-woo. South Korea has been placed in Group A and will face Iran on March 2, the Philippines on March 5, and Australia on March 8.
The national team will assemble in Korea on February 15 before departing for Australia on February 19.
The 27-year-old from Seoul joined the Roses in August 2025 after a remarkable stint in the South Korean WK-League, where she played over 120 matches and won six national championships. She has 44 caps with the South Korea senior national team.
Chaerim will report to the Roses training camp following the tournament. The club wishes her the best of luck with the South Korean national team.
