THE AMERICAN FORWARD EARNS MAY HONOURS AFTER THREE GOALS, INCLUDING A LATE WINNER IN TORONTO

The Northern Super League announced today that Montréal Roses forward Elyse Bennett has been named Player of the Month of May. The 26-year-old American led the Montreal attack throughout the month, helping the Roses climb to the top of the league standings.

Fans can see Bennett and the Roses at home starting June 21 at Stade Boréale, the first of four consecutive home matches, as well as at the historic August 29 match at Stade Saputo. Tickets are on sale now from $20 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets

Bennett scored three goals in May, including the 88th-minute winner in a 1-0 victory in Toronto on May 10 and the opening goal against Vancouver on May 30. A starter in every Roses match this season, she leads the NSL scoring chart with five goals through six matches.

In her first season with the Roses after joining from the NWSL’s Orlando Pride, Bennett and the club (4-1-1, 13 points) return to action this Saturday, June 13 in Toronto, before coming home on June 21 to face Calgary Wild FC.
