ALEXIS, BROU AND LEMIEUX TO REPRESENT CANADA IN MOROCCO
Three Montréal Roses players have been named to Canada’s U-17 women’s national team for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, taking place in Morocco from October 18 to November 8, 2026.
The selections include winger Mélyna Alexis, centre-back Christ-Mayron Brou and goalkeeper Megan Lemieux, all 16 years old. The three joined the Roses on July 4 on youth development permits, an agreement that allows them to train and play within the Roses’ professional structure while continuing their development at the CF Montréal Academy.
“When we gave Mélyna, Christ-Mayron and Megan development contracts this summer, our goal was clear: to support the progress of three local players with exceptional potential,” said Marinette Pichon, Sporting Director of the Montréal Roses. “Seeing them selected for a World Cup today speaks to the value of the partnership between the Roses and the CF Montréal Academy. It is a tremendous source of pride for everyone in this organization, and we can’t wait to follow them on the international stage.”
Canada will play its three group stage matches at the Women’s Football Complex in Rabat:
- Sunday, October 18, 10 a.m. ET: Canada vs Brazil
- Wednesday, October 21, 10 a.m. ET: Canada vs Norway
- Saturday, October 24, 10 a.m. ET: Canada vs Ghana
It will be a second consecutive appearance at the tournament for Mélyna Alexis, who helped Canada reach the quarterfinals of the 2025 edition.
Fans can come out to salute the three U-17 internationals at the Roses’ next regular season match, Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at Stade Boréale, when Montreal hosts Ottawa Rapid FC with first place on the line. Tickets for the match are available from $28 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.
