Montréal, January 22, 2025 – The Montréal Roses are proud to announce the signing of Alexandria "Allie" Hess, former captain of MSV Duisburg in the Frauen Bundesliga, and Jodi Smith, a rising defensive star with an impressive collegiate record. These new recruits bring international experience and undeniable potential, reinforcing the Roses' ambition to build a competitive team for their inaugural season in the Northern Super League. These signings were made possible thanks to the support of FASKEN, a founding partner of the club and a key player in realizing our vision for women's soccer in Montréal.

Alexandria Hess joins the Roses with an exceptional pedigree from the Frauen Bundesliga, one of the world’s premier women’s soccer leagues. Renowned for its high level of competition, the Bundesliga is a proving ground for top global talent. As captain of MSV Duisburg in the 2023-2024 season, Hess was instrumental in maintaining her team’s first-division status, standing out for her consistent performances. Over three seasons, she made 53 appearances, starting 47 matches, and contributed 10 goals and 4 assists. Her versatility as a striker, playmaker, and defensive midfielder adds a significant dimension to the Roses' lineup.

Jodi Smith has distinguished herself as a reliable and impactful player at Florida Atlantic University. A solid defender, she logged 6,697 minutes over 77 collegiate games, earning spots on the All-Conference USA and American Athletic Conference teams. In 2021, she achieved one of her proudest moments by winning a national championship with Team Boca. Inspired by her mother, a seasoned coach, Smith represents the new generation of players poised to excel at the professional level.
