At the end of a hard fought and dramatic battle at the Wanderers Grounds, the Montréal Roses battled Halifax Tides FC to a 2 2 draw. With this result, the Montreal side maintains its hold on top spot in the standings heading into the final week of the regular season. The match delivered everything expected between two teams fighting for vital objectives, with Halifax pushing aggressively for a playoff spot.
The Roses controlled the tempo early on. Lucy Cappadona opened the scoring in the 27th minute following persistent pressure, before Mimi Alidou doubled the lead from the penalty spot deep in first-half stoppage time (45+1). The hosts mounted a strong response after the interval. Jordyn Rhodes narrowed the deficit in the 70th minute, and Tiffany Cameron later leveled the score for Halifax in the 86th minute. Despite Montreal holding the statistical advantage with 18 total shots and 56 percent possession, the scoreline remained level at the final whistle.
Despite the draw, the championship race remains in Montreal's control. The Roses sit at the summit and can still clinch the Supporters' Shield this weekend if both Toronto and Ottawa fail to win their respective fixtures. Additionally, the Roses extended their unbeaten run to nine matches, moving just one game away from tying the all-time league record.
