16-YEAR-OLD MONTREALER TO BE AVAILABLE FOR W CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

The Montréal Roses announce the addition of goalkeeper Florence Cloutier to the first-team roster.

A Montreal native, Cloutier currently plays for AS Brossard in the Première Ligue de Soccer Juvénile du Québec (PLSJQ). Developed in Candiac and then CS Roussillon, she has taken part in several provincial selections with Soccer Québec, including the Provincial Identification Program at U15, U16 and U17, as well as the High Performance Program in 2025-26.

Like Mélyna Alexis, Christ-Mayron Brou, Marilou Harvey and Megan Lemieux before her, Cloutier is signed to a youth development permit, an agreement that allows young players to compete in a professional environment while preserving their eligibility at the NCAA level. 

Her arrival comes with three of the club’s four other goalkeepers unavailable. Megan Lemieux is currently at Canada’s under-17 national team camp in Atlanta, while Anne-Marie Laroche and Gabrielle Lambert are sidelined. 

The Roses return to action this Wednesday, August 12 at 6 p.m., hosting Simcoe County Rovers FC at Stade Boréale in the W Canadian Championship quarterfinals. All tickets are $15 and available at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.
