Both players will rejoin the Roses following their international commitments. The club’s training camp is underway at Centre sportif Bois-de-Boulogne in preparation for the 2026 NSL season, which kicks off on April 25th. The first home game is Saturday, May 2nd at 7 PM at Stade Boréale. Season tickets are available starting at $21 per game at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.
Evelyn Badu - Ghana at the Pink Ladies Cup
Evelyn Badu, 23, has been named to the Black Queens’ 26-player squad for the Pink Ladies Cup, a preparation tournament taking place from February 28th to March 6th in the United Arab Emirates. Ghana will face Hong Kong, Russia, and Tanzania.
The tournament is part of Ghana’s preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for March 17th to April 3rd in Morocco. WAFCON doubles as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with the top four teams earning direct qualification. Ghana has been drawn in Group D alongside Mali, Cape Verde, and Cameroon.
This marks Ghana’s 12th appearance at WAFCON. Three-time finalists, the Black Queens have yet to win the continental title. Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren will lead the squad for the tournament.
Badu joined the Roses in January 2026.
Tanya Boychuk - Ukraine in World Cup Qualifiers
Tanya Boychuk, 25, has been called up for Ukraine’s opening two matches in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup European Qualifiers. Ukraine will face England on March 3rd and Spain on March 7th, with both matches taking place in Turkey.
Ukraine’s training camp, led by head coach Volodymyr Pyatenko, began on February 22nd. The qualifying campaign will be a competitive one: the group includes reigning world champions Spain, European champions England, and Iceland. Ukraine earned their place in the top tier of European qualifying after winning their Nations League group.
The group winner will qualify directly for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The remaining teams will go through playoff rounds for the additional UEFA spots.
This will be Boychuk’s third call-up with Ukraine, following her first selection in June 2025 and an appearance at the She Plays tournament in Spain last November. Last season, she was central to the Roses’ attack with 7 goals and 4 assists.
The Montréal Roses wish Evelyn and Tanya the best of success with their national teams.
