24-YEAR-OLD GOALKEEPER ALSO AWARDED GOLDEN GLOVE
The Montréal Roses are proud to announce that goalkeeper Anna Karpenko has been named the Northern Super League (NSL) Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2026 season. Despite an injury late in the campaign, the 24-year-old shot-stopper also captures the Golden Glove, awarded to the keeper with the most shutouts in the league.
Karpenko capped off a standout individual campaign at the top of the league’s goaltending charts, recording 7 clean sheets and 63 saves across 22 matches played. She served as the cornerstone of a Montreal backline that propelled the club to the Supporters’ Shield and top spot in the regular-season standings.
“Anna was an absolute anchor for our squad all season long. Her composure between the posts, leadership under pressure, and ability to deliver crucial saves when we needed them most gave our entire group incredible confidence,” said Marinette Pichon, Sporting Director of the Montréal Roses. “This dual honour is richly deserved and speaks to her daily work ethic.”
Native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Karpenko established herself as an elite force from matchday one, delivering consistent high-caliber performances to keep Montreal among the league’s top defensive units throughout the year.
Karpenko will be recognized by the organization and fans this Sunday, November 8 at 4:00 p.m. ET, as the Roses host Vancouver Rise FC in Leg 2 of the NSL Semi-Finals. Don’t miss the biggest home match of the season and secure your tickets today at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.
