Lara Schenk

Lara Schenk is a dynamic and versatile German soccer player, bringing both grit and intelligence to the backline and midfield. Standing at 5 feet 4 inches and naturally both-footed, Lara offers rare flexibility on the pitch, capable of commanding play from defense or shielding the midfield. Her career spans several countries and cultures, with professional stops at Spain’s Sporting Club de Huelva, Belgium’s Anderlecht and Club Brugge, and the U.S. collegiate system with the Harvard Crimson. 

While at Harvard, she not only excelled on the field but also co-founded a chapter of Athlete Ally, advocating for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in college sports. Schenk began her soccer career with German powerhouse VfL Wolfsburg and proudly cites her UEFA Women’s Champions League debut as a defining moment, reconnecting her with the pure joy she first felt when kicking a ball at five years old. 

Drawn to the Montréal Roses by their authentic vision for community, diversity, and the growing legacy of Canadian soccer, Lara is passionate about helping build something meaningful in this city. She continues to use her platform and experience to champion positive change in women’s sports, both on and off the pitch.
