Monyard, the winger from London, Ontario, is making her professional debut with the Montréal Roses after being selected in the club's inaugural tryouts. This marks the realization of her dream to play professional soccer in Canada.
Her journey has been shaped by resilience. During her senior year of college, she faced a challenging setback with an injury. This time away from the game allowed her to recover, reflect, and come back even stronger, both physically and mentally. One of her standout moments came in 2016, when, at just 16 years old, she helped her team win the Ontario League One title in its inaugural year, gaining invaluable experience and lessons.
Off the field, the 24-year-old contributed to research on Thymoquinone and DNA with Professor Stephen Winkel at FIU, which was published in the Biophysical Journal. She also graduated with a degree in biochemistry and plans to pursue a career in anesthesiology.
Outside of soccer, Claire enjoys cooking and playing the piano. She admires Andrés Iniesta for his grace and skill on the field. Joining the Montréal Roses allows Claire to live her dream while inspiring young girls across Canada to pursue their own ambitions in soccer.
