NSL FAN CODE OF CONDUCT
Fans are a vital part of every club’s culture and community. To ensure a welcoming environment, the following standards apply:
Visibility and Responsibility
- Clubs must display the Code on their websites, pre-match communications, and in-stadium signage.
- Stadium staff, volunteers, and contractors must be informed and trained on enforcement procedures.
Respect for All Participants
- Players, coaches, referees: Support passionately — never abusively.
- Sportsmanship: Applaud the opposing team’s good efforts.
- Inclusion: Everyone should be treated with dignity, regardless of background or identity.
Positive Fan Engagement
- Atmosphere: Help create a lively, welcoming matchday environment.
- Support through adversity: Stay behind your team, even during tough moments.
- Integrity of the game: No intimidating or degrading behaviour.
Prohibited Behaviours
- Violence or threats of violence
- Discriminatory language (racist, homophobic, etc.)
- Offensive chants or gestures
- Throwing objects
- Use of fireworks, smoke devices, or laser pointers
Spectator Conduct
- No field access or entry into restricted zones
- No harassment of players, staff, or fans
- Alcohol must be consumed responsibly
Compliance
- All fans must follow local laws and stadium-specific rules
- Respect for all stadium staff and security is required
Enforcement
- Violators may face ejection, bans, or legal action
- Clubs can be held responsible for fan behaviour
Reporting
- Misconduct should be reported to stadium staff
- Anonymous reporting options are available
STADE BORÉALE RULES
For a safe, inclusive, and fun experience
The Montréal Roses are committed to a positive, safe, and welcoming experience for everyone. By entering Stade Boréale, you agree to follow these rules. Violations may result in ejection, ticket revocation, or legal consequences.
Access and Security
- Comply with NSL and Roses staff/security instructions
- Bag check and electronic screening required at entry
- No backpacks. Other bags (max 14” x 14” x 6”) permitted with inspection
- No animals (except certified service dogs)
- Sit in your assigned seat and show ticket if requested
- Your image may be used in photos/videos by the club or partners
Prohibited Items
- Weapons or dangerous objects
- Fireworks or smoke devices
- Drugs or illegal substances
- Outside alcohol or drinks
- Cigarettes and vaping (prohibited within 9m of stadium)
- Outside food (except snacks/baby food)
- Glass bottles, coolers
- Umbrellas, selfie sticks, tripods
- Unauthorized pro cameras
- Offensive, hateful, or political signs/clothing
- Do not demonstrate or promote any specific political cause in any way
- Disruptive noise devices (whistles, vuvuzelas, air horns, etc.)
- Laser pointers
- Flying projectiles (drones, balls, etc.)
- Skateboards, rollerblades, bikes
- Large strollers (only umbrella strollers allowed)
- Backpacks
Expected Conduct
- Courtesy, respect, and inclusion are essential. Any behaviour deemed aggressive, threatening, discriminatory, or disruptive may result in ejection without refund.
- Spectators must wear a shirt covering the torso at all times while inside the stadium.
- Interrupting play (entering the field, throwing objects, using whistles, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
- If a ball leaves the field of play, please return it to a staff member or a ball retriever.
- Fans wishing to bring a flag must ensure it is appropriate, non-commercial, non-political, and in keeping with the spirit of the football match.
Flag poles must be made of flexible PVC and must not exceed 1.80 m (6’) in length.
Staff reserve the right to refuse any flag at their discretion, without the need to provide justification.
Other Stadium Policies
- Smoking/vaping is strictly prohibited
- Intoxicated guests may be denied entry or removed
- Alcohol sales restricted to minors and those visibly intoxicated
- No re-entry once you leave (except in emergencies)
- Umbrella strollers permitted — store safely or check at ticket office
- Use public transit or carpooling when possible
- Respect all local/provincial/federal laws
